How many on here have RV's that use 12 volt appliances? I'me doing some research and Might need to ask questions of people who use 12 volt regularly or even a few times a year. I'me not talking cars and car equipment. we run that stuff every day and I am very knowledgeable in its use and requirements.

I am more interested in the RV type refrigerators Televisions Home entertainment and the like. The same stuff we use in our homes every day but designed for portable use.

Not looking for a discussion on it at the moment just want to know who to go to as the questions come up. so if your knowledgeable in this please just say I can help in a post below and maybe tell how often you use the 12 volt appliances.

AA, skip the fridge and get a 12v freezer. Reason being: A freezer can make ice, ice in a chest can last for upto 5 days to keep perishables fresh. Zeer pots are another good way to keep food preserved that require no electricity. A TV tuner card for a laptop is the most energy efficient TV I can think of if you're looking to watch broadcast TV. Otherwise get the smallest LCD TV you can possibly live with. The larger the screen, the bigger the draw. To save weight and space, convert your standard DVD to avi. or dvix files and you can fit 12-14 hours of video on a single dvd or 11-12 hours on 4gb thumb drive. I live in an 22ft Airstream and even a few dozen cd jewel boxes and dvd cases can take up precious space for other necessities. The ultimate of space saver would be an external hard drive but you'd need a computer to access it.
